A Celebration of Hugh DeWitt's Contributions on His Eightieth Birthday: Problems and Perspectives in Charged Particle Systems

University of California Faculty Club
Saturday, May 29, 2010

Location

The symposium and banquet was held at the UC Berkeley Faculty Club on the UC Berkeley campus. Directions.

Registration

The registration fee for the symposium was $40 and the cost of the banquet was $50. Spouses are encouraged to come to the banquet.

Schedule

The time for each talk is 20 minutes, plus 5 minutes for questions and comments. If you are using a laptop, please set up your computer during the question period of the previous talk. A projector for viewgraphs is also available. It is a good idea to save your talk on a flash drive also. If you send me a pdf file of your talk, I will post it on the symposium website.

Hotel Information

The two recommended hotels are both easy walking distance to the UC Faculty Club. The deadline for a group rate has passed, but rooms might still be available.

The least expensive way to get from the either airport is to take Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART). During rush hour it is the fatest way to go. Its a short walk to either hotel.

It is also possible to take a shuttle from OAK or SFO, including Airport Connection, Bay Area Shuttle, and Bayporter.

Other hotels can be booked through kayak.com.

May 30 Brunch

Sanne and Hugh DeWitt are hosting a brunch at the Berkeley Doubletree Marina Bay Grill, 200 Marina Blvd. (ask for the DeWitt Symposium). Drivers will pick people up at 9:30 am from the Bancroft and Durant Hotels to the Doubletree. The breakfast buffet which is served until 10:30 am, but it will be possible to order from the menu after 10:30 am.
