  • Packing of Polyhedral particles

    Tetrahedrons

We measured the random packing fraction of the Platonic solids, and imaged the packing with newly acquired x-ray CT machine at Clark.

Related paper - Maximum and minimum stable random packings of Platonic solids, J. Baker and A. Kudrolli, Phys. Rev. E 82, 061304 (2010).

A recommendation and commentary by Salvatore Torquato, Princeton University on the preprint can be found in the Journal Club of Condensed Matter Physics. Link.
