Obituary of May Gould

May (Kleiner) Gould, 93, passed away on February 19, 2010 at Renaissance Gardens in Tinton Falls, New Jersey. Her husband Mauri predeceased her in 2008. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in June 2007. She is survived by a son Harvey and his wife Patti and three grandchildren, Joshua and his wife Rachel, Emily and her husband Ventura Rodriguez, and Evan; a son Tom and his companion Barbara Carter; and her sister Nancy Mitchell of Oxnard, California.

May Gould was born on May 22, 1916 in Ventura, California. She graduated from Beverly Hills High School in 1933 and graduated with a B.A. in bacteriology from the University of California, Berkeley in 1937. She and her husband, Mauri Gould, were married in June, 1937. After her children were grown she worked at Cowell Hospital (now University Health Services at the Tang Center) at the University of California, Berkeley.

She and husband lived in the Bay Area for many years and then retired to Watsonsville, CA where they planted fruit trees, gardened, and raised chickens. They also lived in Sequim, WA, Worcester, MA, Heritage Village in Southbury, CT, and then in Seabrook Village, a continuing care community in Tinton Falls, NJ.
