AboutI am a graduate student in the Physics
Department
at Clark
University. Professor Harvey
Gould is my
advisor. I came to Clark on August 15, 1999 from the People's Republic
of China after I received my M.S. degree from the Institute of Solid
State Physics,
Chinese Academy of Sciences in
July, 1999. During this time, I
finished
advanced courses at the University
of Science and Technology of China (USTC).
I received my B.S.
degree from Shandong
University. I currently work with Harvey Gould at Clark University and
William Klein at Boston University. I am doing computer simulations on
earthquakes by applying several statistical models such as
Burridge-Knopoff spring-block model, and its cellular
atomata versions ( the Olami-Feder-Christensen and
the Rundle-Jackson-Brown
Models). For my master's thesis, I
developed
molecular dynamics and microscopic structure
analysis programs to investigate the microstructure evolution of
liquid metals and semiconductors during the
crystallization and glass formation under ultra-fast quench.
