Roger Kohin, Associate Professor of Physics, emeritus, received his B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Notre Dame in 1953 and his Ph.D. in physics from the University of Maryland in 1961. After a year as a postdoctoral fellow at the Institut Battelle, Geneva, Switzerland, he joined the Clark faculty and initiated electron spin resonance studies on ferroelectric crystals.

Kohin has spent substantial time doing research and lecturing outside the United States. His appointments include a year spent as a Fellow at the J. Stefan Institute, Ljubljana, Yugoslavia, a year as Indo-American Fellow at the Indian Institute of Technology--Kanpur and a year as Visiting Professor at the University of Nairobi, Kenya. His teaching ranges from courses designed for non-science majors to graduate level courses. Kohin retired from full-time teaching in 1994.
