                                            My Dear Mother,
Yours of 14th Sept. was rec by me
last mail. according to my promise by last mail. Enclosed please find Mess Tallant & Wildes Draft #1344– on Bank of the State of New York, for One Hundred Dollars ($100”) which is from Harris and myself am very glad to hear that you are all well I am afraid you are getting vain, as you repudiate your own and Fathers Daguerotypes at this late day. Vanity is the least fault I would have accused you of. I shall always strive to let that be my last fault. You must really be content with a short letter from me this time. I have 5 up County friends going to Start East by this Steamer and I have spent all my spare time for three or four days with them and it is now 11 P.M. and I am tired. I was at Pacheco Day before yesterday found all well. Mr & Mrs Harker and all the little Harkers are going last of this week to make Ann & famy a visit. I think Dr Dalton might as well have staid away, if he has endured it for two years. I congratulate upon your acquisition of a Sewing machine, and feel under obligation to Uncle and Aunt for their many kind acts to you, and hope sometime we may in some way show them our appreciation of the more than favors. write often and fully and I will always answer. I still insist upon Marys fulfilling my wishes in regard to writing once each month. Our busy season is yet upon us, and may last two months yet. My former Partner from Placerville Mr Jos White leaving tomorrow for Philadelphia, and may come to Ohio if so will visit you, and as a particular friend of mine I know I need not bespeak for him open doors and a cordial welcome. he will have a Letter of introduction from me. Good night
                                                            As Ever Yours,
