Dear Mother
Received by last mail yours of 15th ult. as I have forwarded it to
Harris and Ann cannot answer it in detail. I was at Anns yesterday to
Breakfast and dinner. They are in their new house, though it is not
finished are all well and in good spirits Ann is very much healthier
than in Placerville and Harris looks better than when he first came
down. business is very good there. Wm Hale leaves here by the next
Steamer after this 5th Dec. for Ohio and Iowa. He expects to be gone
from here about ninety days. will certainly visit you though may not
stay long he is not decided yet what his route will be exactly. I shall
write you by next mail. Enclosed find Tallant & Wildes Draft on
N. York. (you should it at a premium) for Fifty Dollars will send you
fifty more as you wish. hope you are all well. Harris was writing you
yesterday so you ought to have a Letter from him with this. having been
gone yesterday I am very busy to day and hope you will excuse the haste
which I write. You inquired in your last of the whereabouts of somebody
I do not know who now or of their whereabouts do not ever apologize for
writing such minutia (as you say) I want to know all about every thing
will try and give you a better letter by next mail. write often Love to
all
Yours as ever.
Chittenden
I think such a Letter as above only an
aggravation and would not send it but to send the Draft.
